On the first day of winter, a Fairy from the Ministry of Winter Services was busy decorating a small street in a tiny town with snow and icicles. Her careless helpers, the Snowflakes, accidentally shatter the largest and most beautiful icicle.

In an attempt to hide their mistake, the Snowflakes try to gather the shards, but a sudden gust of wind scatters them, taking the pieces away. Left behind at the scene is a small piece of ice, which magically comes to life and transforms into a little Ice Crystal.
