A maniac is on the loose. The police are overwhelmed, people are frightened, and Elsa Grigoryevna sees in all of this a rare opportunity: to catch the criminal and finally earn the title of “Woman of the Year.”
Inspired by this ambition, Elsa Grigoryevna launches an investigation of her own. Every man who crosses her doorstep becomes a suspect: an electrician, a plumber, a doctor, a rescuer, a mechanic, a notary. But the harder she searches for the maniac, the more tangled the mystery becomes — and the more surprises await her along the way.
